September YHA mini-holiday – new date!
Monday 19 to Friday 23 September 2011 (i.e. four nights away, driving home on Friday).
The September mini-break will be in the Forest of Bowland. Nearby is Settle, the Settle to Carlisle railway, (possibly incorporated into a walk), Stocks Reservoir, some interesting-looking fells and an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Accommodation: YHA, Slaidburn, Forest of Bowland, nr Clitheroe Lancashire. http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/yorkshire-dales-south-pennines/hostels/slaidburn this is a self catering hostel, formerly a 18th century Inn. It has recently been refurbished. There is a pub opposite as an option for evening meals. Overnight charge for YHA members is £17 (add £3 for non-members).
